Obersalzberg and Eagles Nest

Hitler’s Alpine Residence in Berchtesgaden

Enjoying the beauty of the Berchtesgaden countryside in Bavaria / Germany is an unforgettable and most unique experience. However, recent history has left behind traces of great suffering and wrongdoing at this site. Hitler settled there before World War II and built up his alpine residence including one of the most spectacular mountain roads of Europe leading up to a height of 1834 metres. You will never forget the breathtaking view from the “Eagles Nest”, originally an old mountain refuge called “Kehlsteinhaus”. Next to Hitler’s former residence on the Obersalzberg a historic documentation centre can be visited today.
